Baseball in the Berkshires Exhibit to Open in Great Barrington

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The Baseball in the Berkshires traveling museum and the Great Barrington Historical Society on Saturday open a new exhibit, "Baseball, The Berkshires and The Babe."   The free exhibit will be on view Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the historical society's museum at 817 South Main St. (Route 2).   Baseball in the Berkshires is dedicated to telling the story of America's pastime in the region and celebrating the 40 Major League players and 220 minor leaguers who have called Berkshire County home.   "Baseball, The Berkshires and The Babe highlights the history of the game in Great Barrington and the surrounding

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced crews will be conducting daytime and overnight hour guardrail repair, drainage work, bridge repair, tree trimming, and bridge paving operations at various locations and times on I-90 eastbound and westbound during the week of Monday, April 29.   Lane closures will be in place during the construction operations and traffic will be able to travel through the work zones.  The schedule for the work and lane closures will be as follows:    Otis Guardrail repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 westbound between mile marker 21.0 and mile marker 26.0 from Monday, April

Dion Brown Announces Transfer to Boston College

It will be a shorter trip for Berkshire County basketball fans who want to see former Monument Mountain basketball star Dion Brown play home games next winter.   On Wednesday afternoon, Brown announced via the social media platform “X” that he is transferring to Boston College.   “I am proud to announce my decision to further my academic and athletic career at Boston College,” Brown tweeted. “I am hopeful for the future! Construct to Host Designer Showcase

Local Runners Compete at Boston Marathon

BOSTON, Mass. -- Laura Stephen of Great Barrington finished 26th in the women's 60-64 age group at Monday's Boston Marathon, the top Berkshire County finisher in their division at the 128th running of the event.   Stephen crossed the finish line in 3 hours, 42 minutes, 52 seconds, 12,633rd in the overall field of more than 30,000 runners who made the trek from Hopkinton to Copley Square in Boston.   More than a dozen Berkshire County residents are listed among the finishers on the Boston Athletic Association website.   The fastest of that group was Dalton's Alex White, who finished in 2:38:34 to place 358th overall and 291st among men aged 18 to 39.   The
