PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire County Arc and the Berkshire County Arc Down Syndrome Family Group have awarded scholarships ranging upwards from $1,000 to the following five high school seniors who demonstrated outstanding prior involvement with individuals with disabilities and the potential to contribute to the field of human services.

ADAMS, Mass. — Trustees of the BART Charter Public School elected a new board chair and treasurer, Dianne M. Cutillo and Jennifer Kerwood, and a new trustee, Maura Delaney, at the board's June meeting.

Officers re-elected were Christopher Perkins, vice chair, and Geraldine Shen, secretary. In addition to electing Delaney to a first term of two years, the board approved a third three-year term for Perkins and a second three-year term for Cindy Brown, Cutillo and Kerwood.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is offering two new major programs in the Department of Biology, a bachelors of science degrees in health sciences and in community health education. These programs will launch in the fall of 2017.

Also starting this fall, the Biology Department will offer two new concentrations — pre-medical professions and pre-veterinary. In addition, new biology faculty members will join the campus in September.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Miss Hall's School has announced 47 local students among the 135 girls schoolwide named to the Head's List and Honor Roll for the second semester, which ended May 31.

For Head's List recognition, students must have taken five major, full-credit courses and must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 92, with no single grade below B-plus.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Community College has announced its Spring 2017 Dean's List.

To be eligible for the list, full-time students must have declared a major, completed a minimum of 12 non-repeated, traditionally graded credit hours during the spring semester, and achieved a 3.250 to 3.749 grade point average for Honors, or a 3.750 to 4.000 grade point average for High Honors.

Part-time students are eligible for the list if they meet the same requirements, except that their credit hours may have been completed during the fall and spring semesters of one academic year.
