PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Frances M. Salvi of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Springside Nursing Home.

Frances, better known as “Nani,” was born in Worcester, Mass., on November 12, 1922, to Giacomo and Lucia DeCicco Piaquaddio. Nani’s family settled in Pittsfield, where she attended schools. Nani’s children gave a spark to her life, as did living her final years at Berkshire Town Apartments building puzzles and shooting pool. She loved the city of Pittsfield and was a communicant of St. Mark Church and enjoyed the local political scene.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Arthur Salvi. She leaves her two sons, Arthur and Richard from Cheshire, Mass.; and her four grandchildren, Carrie Brooks and her husband, Matt, of Duxbury, Mass., Cristy Campbell and her husband, Jeff, of Cohasset, Mass., Marc Salvi and his wife, Kim, of Clinton, Mass., and Eric Salvi of Cheshire, Mass. Nani’s favorite joy was her great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jordan, Jacob, Katie, JJ, Ally, Molly and Maddie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Frances can be made to St. Mark Church in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
