Minor H. Haskell, 80

December 29, 2017


LENOX, Mass. — Minor H. Haskell, 80, of Lenox died suddenly on Friday, December 29, 2017.



Minor was born in Springfield, Mass., on April 28, 1938, to the late Minor and Stella Watson Haskell. He attended Commerce High School. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Coast Guard on August 4, 1958, and was honorably discharged on October 3, 1960 with the rank of YN2-E5. 



Mr. Haskell worked at the former Wonderbread/Hostess Cakes for many years before its closing. Minor was employed at in the maintenance department at Kripula in Lenox.



Minor enjoyed bowling at Ken’s Bowl, golfing at Pontoosuc, and he loved camping. He and his wife, Deborah A. Saville were married in Springfield, Mass., in 1976.



Besides his wife, Minor is survived by his three children, Glenn Haskell and Cynthia of Springfield, Mass., ad Steven Haskell of Vermont; three grandchildren, Ben, Taylor and Ian; brothers, David Haskell of Agawam, and Ron and Joann of Pittsfield; nieces Nicole Haskell of Springfield, Allison Boule (Darren) of Florida, and Tammy Emerson and Tiffany Siepietowski, and many other nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; his in-laws, Katherine Calbrese, Carla Dillion, Wanda Weidel and Timothy Saville; and his two beloved dogs: Sabrina and Ortiz.



Funeral notice: The funeral of Mr. Minor H. Haskell will be held on Friday, January 5, 2017, at noon at the Roche Funeral Home with Fr. Peter Naranjo, chaplain at Berkshire Medical Center, officiating. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Minor’s memory may be made to the Lenox VFW in care of the Roche Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
