Margaret A. Scott, 74

DALTON, Mass. — Margaret (Maggie) Ann Scott, 74, of 661 East Street in Dalton, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 1, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center, with her family by her side.



She was born in Houlton, Maine, on June 1, 1943 to the late Loomis and Theresa Colton Connors. She was a graduate of Houlton High School. Maggie married Richard V. Scott on December 13, 1962.



Maggie worked for Nationwide Insurance and Crane and Company, but her last and favorite job was running her pet sitting business with her husband for ten years.



Her family was her greatest source of joy and spending time with her great-granddaughter was the highlight of her week for the past four years. She was an avid photographer, and loved to travel, gamble and spend time with her friends and her sister. 



She leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Scott, her daughter, Linda Galok and husband Timothy of Pittsfield; son Eric Scott and wife Holly of Mascoutah, Ill.; her sister, Rosemarie Levensailor of Portsmouth, N.H.; brother Peter Connors of Kennebunkport, Maine; grandchildren, Amber Mawhinney and husband Christopher, and Mickaela, Emma and Samuel Scott; great-granddaughter Skylar Mawhinney; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur babies, Honey Bear and Misty. 



She was predeceased by her brothers, Bernard (Bunny) Connors and Bobby Jo Connors; her niece, Linda Levensailor Daigler and her nephew, Bernard Connors, Jr.



Funeral notice: Funeral Services for Margaret Ann Scott will be private, and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Dery-Foley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
