Stanley J. Kestyn, 83

April 12, 2018


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mr. Stanley John Kestyn, 83, of Adams died Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.



He was born in Montague, Mass., on January 25, 1935, a son of the late Stanley C. and Antoinette V. (Tranowski) Kestyn. He graduated from Turners Falls High School, then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island. He had lived in Adams for the past 48 years.



Mr. Kestyn worked as a sales representative for the Berkshire Gas Co. for 34 years. After retiring from Berkshire Gas, he worked for F.W. Webb Co. for several years, until finally retiring. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus of Turners Falls, and was Past President and Secretary of the Adams Lions Club. He had also served as a member of the Massachusetts National Guard for eight years.



He enjoyed traveling, fishing and cooking.



He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Elizabeth A. LaRoche, whom he married on February 8, 1958; his children and grandchildren, including Lynn DelNegro, her husband Steve and their son, Nicholas; Pamela Kahanek and her husband Dave, Brenda McIntyre, her husband Michael and their children Marinda and Troy, John Kestyn, his wife Kate and their children Abby and Ben, and Robert Kestyn and his children Emily and Meredith; as well as his beloved pet, Maddie.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrating Stanley’s life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.



Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 877 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201; or to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd. Pittsfield, MA 01201. The Paciorek Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
