Geraldine Fallon, 90

July 28, 2018


DALTON, Mass. — Geraldine H. Fallon died Saturday, July 28, 2018.



Born on November 16, 1927 in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Akroyd Thomson. A former Hinsdale resident, she was a 1945 graduate of Lenox High School. In 1946 she married her late husband, William H. Fallon Sr.



She enjoyed flower gardening, crossword puzzles and country music.



She leaves five sons, William Fallon Jr. and his wife Shannon of Ward, Ark., James Fallon and his wife Bonnie of Pittsfield, Stephen Fallon of Dalton, with whom she resided, Kevin Fallon and his wife Sheryl of New Lebanon, N.Y., and Dennis Fallon and his wife Carol of Dalton; a daughter, Jocelyn Fallon of Dalton; three grandchildren, Eric, Nick and Amy; and four great-grandchildren, Kendra, Kaitlyn and Evan Fallon and Arya Koch.



She was predeceased by an infant son, Brian Fallon; and a daughter, Nancy Fallon, who died in 1988.



She was also predeceased by six brothers, James, John, George, William, Llewellyn and Charles. William was killed in 1945 in Belgium in the Battle of The Bulge and is interred in the American Cemetery in Luxembourg.



The last of 10 children, Geraldine was also predeceased by three sisters, Alice Sabato, Lillian Rawling, and Dorothea Kirchner. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Fallon will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, co-celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor, and Rev. Frank Furman. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery.



There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Eleonor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
