Dorothy C. Battaini, 83

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Dorothy C. (Gagnon) Battaini, 83, of Pittsfield, Mass., died Friday, October 19, 2018, at Craneville Place in Dalton.



She was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on June 20, 1935, daughter of Francis and Therese (Henault) Gagnon. She attended schools in New Lebanon, N.Y. Dorothy first worked at the former Glix Brandt Co. and then at Sheaffer-Eaton At-A Glance for about 18 years. She was last employed at Berkshire Custom Index Co for 13 years until her retirement in 2002.



Dorothy was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and now Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed gardening, flea markets and repairing clocks. She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.



Survivors include two sons, Aldo R. Battaini Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Pittsfield and Glenn M. Battaini of Peru, Mass.; six grandchildren, including Matthew Battaini, Andrew Battaini, Peter (Erika) Battaini, Rabakka Battaini, Ashley (Steve) Gwozdz and Lucas Battaini; three great-grandchildren, including Bella, Baileigh and Madeline; her sister, Pauline Clark of Cheshire, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.  



She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Gagnon; and her sister, Vivian McConkey.  



Dorothy’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Craneville Place for their care and compassion.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Dorothy Battaini will be celebrated Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Michael F. Bernier, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  



Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, Mass., are Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 4 to7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or Sacred Heart Church in care of the funeral home.
