In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week this month (May 7-11), Berkshires MacKid will celebrate Berkshire County K-12 private and public schools and their teachers throughout the month of May in partnership with Realty Street, Mazzeo's Ristorante, Dalton General Store, Tyler and Pine Bakery, Pittsfield Cooperative Bank, and the Pittsfield Suns.

Through May 22, individuals will be able to submit one vote per day per email address for the school of their choice online and then answer a few super quick questions to "show your school love."

The wining school will receive a luncheon in June for its staff courtesy of Realty Street, Mazzeo's Ristorante, Dalton General Store, and Tyler and Pine Bakery; a $100 donation to the school's PTO courtesy of Pittsfield Cooperative Bank; and tickets for the entire student body and school staff to watch the Pittsfield Suns take on the Worcester Bravehearts on Saturday, June 16, at 7 p.m. where the entire school will be honored. Students will get to have a pass on the field prior to the game (so bring your gloves), one student and one staff member will be able to throw out the first pitch (as decided by the school), and everyone will get to take in a ballgame.

The winning school will be announced on the Berkshires Macaroni Kid website and on their Facebook page on Monday, May 28.

Current rankings for Week One are as follows: Lee Elementary; Morningside Elementary; Kittredge Elementary; Crosby Elementary; Craneville Elementary; Becket-Washington School; St. Stanlius Kostka School; Conte Community School; Hoosac Valley Elementary; and Richmond Consolidated.
