BOSTON -- Three members of the Berkshire Wrestling Club earned bronze medals over the weekend at the Bay State Games.
Isiaha Hartman-Caesar, Zabion Powell and Michael LaFreniere each finished his competition with a win in the third-place match at the tournament.
A fourth competitor from the club, Deven Pekosz, also competed, wrestling in the 113-pound weight class.
At 120, LaFreniere went 4-0 in the wrestlebacks after losing his initial match in the main draw. He pinnned Samuel Wagner of the New Hampshire Lightning Wrestling Club at 1 minute, 43 seconds of their third-place bout.
At 145, Powell won twice in the main draw before dropping a decision in the semi-finals. In the consolation bracket, he earned a pin to get to the third-place match, where he defeated Lucien Perla, 8-2.
Hartman-Caesar earned one win in the main draw of the heavyweight division but lost in the semi-finals to the eventual champion. In the wrestlebacks, Hartman-Caesar won twice, ending his day with a pin of Essiah Marcial at 3:22 of their bronze medal match.
The team’s performance was good enough for an eighth-place finish in the team standings.
