WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Williamstown and Berkshire 9-year-old Cal Ripken All-Star teams saw their games postponed due to rain on Saturday afternoon in the Western Massachusetts State Tournament.
The two local teams were slated to play Marlboro and Mohawk, respectively, in the final session of the day.
But even the third game on each of the tournament's fields was suspended in progress.
At Bud Anderson Field, Northbridge had an 8-0 lead on Marlboro in the top of the third.
At Williamstown Elementary School, Hudson led Ash-Wets, 20-13, in the top of the sixth when the rains came.
Ash-West earlier lost to Douglas, which won twice to move to 2-0 atop the tournament's American Division.
The standings, as of the four games completed on Saturday, are:
National Division: Douglas 2-0, Hudson 1-0, Mohawk 0-1, Berkshire 0-1, Ash-West 0-1.
American Division: Northbridge 1-0, Nipmuc 1-1, Greenfield 1-1, Williamstown 0-1, Marlboro 0-0.
