LENOX, Mass. — Almgren Law will host a "Ready, Set, Know Your Options” outdoor workshop on Saturday, Sept. 26, to help people understand their estate planning and eldercare options.
Topics will include Using Trusts to Avoid Probate and Save Taxes, Protect Your Home and Assets, Accessing Home Care and VA Benefits, Understanding Nursing Home Rules, Navigating the Health Care System and more.
Speakers from the firm will include estate attorney Kristina Kisiel, nurse care coordinator Debra Allen, veterans benefits specialist Mike King and Paula Almgren, founder of Berkshire County's only law firm specializing in comprehensive elder law, estate and tax planning and life care planning.
"It's a pretty disconcerting time for everyone right now, and we've arranged this event to help people feel a little less stressed and uncertain,” Paula Almgren said. "When we understand what our options are, we can plan for whatever life brings us and often avoid having to make decisions under duress in the middle of a crisis.”
The free event starts at 10 a.m. under a big tent outside Almgren Law at 1 West St. Participants must RSVP by emailing email@example.com or calling 413-637-5075.
Family groups are limited to three members.
Attendees will be required to wear masks until seated on socially distanced chairs and will be asked a few COVID-19 screening questions during registration and upon arrival. Masks and hand-sanitizer will be available, and Individually packaged refreshments will be provided.
"We'll take every precaution to make this a safe, informative event,” Almgren said. "I hope people will come out and learn something valuable that can help them feel a lot more settled.”
