Great Barrington Police Identify Fatality During Severe Storm09:30PM / Wednesday, October 07, 2020 | |
Update: Thomas P. Sullivan of Sheffield has been identified as the fatality of Wednesday evening's thunderstorms.
Around 5:30 pm on Wednesday night, a neighbor of the Wyantenuck Country Golf Club, located on West Sheffield Road, reported to police of seeing a golf cart with a tree on top of it on a dirt access road running alongside the golf course.
Upon arrival Officers, Brandon Hammer and Timothy Ullrich, as well as Sergeant Paul Storti, found a person lying on the ground by the side of the cart. The officers attempted first aid, but the person was deceased.
The cart was covered with several trees and branches. Police have identified the victim as Thomas P. Sullivan from Sheffield.
Sullivan served as a long-time golf pro at Wyantenuck Country Club.
Assisting local police in the investigation were investigators from the State Police Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Services Unit, Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad and the Great Barrington Fire Department.
