Great Barrington Swaps Out Streetlights with LED Bulbs

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The town will save more than $100,000 in the first year following the replacement of 470 streetlights with LED illumination.    The swap-out is now under way and LED fixtures now light up a portion of the town.   The savings in the first year include a one-time energy efficiency rebate of $52,895, and ongoing savings in the following years will be $49,566.15. Simon's Rock Presents Annual Dance Concert

'Slow Dancing' Opens at the Hillman Jackson Gallery

Construction Operations on I-90 Eastbound and Westbound

LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that crews will be conducting overnight hour pavement marking and bridge maintenance operations on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Lee, West Stockbridge, and Stockbridge.     The work will be conducted at various times and locations from Monday, Dec. 4, through Friday, Dec. 8.   Lane closures will be in place during the construction operations and travel will be allowed through the work zones.  The schedule for the work and lane closures will be as follows:    Lee   Pavement marking operations will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 9.4,

Berkshire Grown Awarded State Grant

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Berkshire Grown was awarded $91,477 to strengthen collaborative initiatives that address food security in the Berkshires.   The grant will also increase connections between Berkshire farms and non-traditional community partners to make locally grown food available to all members of the Berkshire community.   The Healey-Driscoll Administration awarded $800,000 in grants to support the efforts of ten regional Buy Local organizations that work to help generate consumer awareness and demand for locally grown food products.
