 EGREMONT, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced it will be installing a temporary traffic signal on Main Street (Route 23 and 41) near the intersection of Creamery Road in Egremont. The traffic signal will be installed at the location of an existing drainage culvert that is scheduled to be replaced in July 2023. The current condition of the culvert necessitates the traffic signal installation. Traffic will be alternating northbound and southbound utilizing the traffic signal. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The state Department of Transportation will provide $385,000 to improve a half-mile section of Route 23 near the Monterey town line. The project will take place during the 2023 construction season, which is shaping up with infrastructure projects throughout town.
