Granola for Good: Healthy Granola Collection

Lenox Annual Election Results

LENOX, Mass. — The town held its annual election on May 8, and according to the unofficial results 624 cast ballots out of the 3431 registered voters.   William David Roche, Jr will return to the select board with 502 votes. He will be joined by Max Scherff who received 363 votes.   Incumbent Thomas G. Delasco will return to the Planning Board with 529 votes, and incumbent Wayne W. Lemanski will return to the Board of Assessors with 521 votes.    Kimberly Winger will join the school committee with 187 write-in votes. She will be joined by Michael Dupont, who received 296 write-in votes, and Kim E. Graham, who received 269 write-in votes.   Incumbent moderator

Pittsfield's Striking Out Cancer Event Back for Third Year

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Area baseball and softball players ages 13 and up are encouraged to participate in the third annual Striking Out Cancer in the Berkshires Event on Saturday, June 24.   The day-long baseball and women's softball games will be played at Clapp Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.   A $10 donation gets you the opportunity to participate in the event. All proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.   Participants will receive a T-shirt to commemorate the event.   Joe DiCicco started Striking Out Cancer as a daylong baseball game in 2021 in memory of his wife. Jacob's Pillow to Rebuild Doris Duke Theatre

BECKET, Mass.— Jacob's Pillow announced building plans to rebuild and reimagine the Doris Duke Theatre, a flexible theater on the site of the original Doris Duke Theatre, which was lost to a fire of undetermined cause in November 2020.    The reimagined Doris Duke Theatre will be approximately 20,000 sq. ft., compared with the former Duke's roughly 8,500 sq. ft. footprint. The design allows for multi-use flexibility, so that the building can support performances, events, residencies, and more, sometimes simultaneously. Berkshire Agriculture Ventures Awarded USDA Grant

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Berkshire Agriculture Ventures (BAV) has been awarded a $630,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture through its Rural Development Meat and Poultry Intermediary Lending Program (MPILP).    Together with an additional $210,000 match from community members, BAV will use this grant to establish a dedicated, $840,000 fund that will enable BAV to issue loans to meat processors within the Berkshire-Taconic foodshed, over the next three years. CHP Mobile Health Second Booster Now Offered

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Mobile Health now offers a second Covid-19 booster for adults 65 and older, and for others of any age with compromised immune systems.   Community Health Programs (CHP) will provide these CDC-approved senior boosters at least four months after the first booster was received. Great Barrington Announces Road Work Projects

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The town has announced Phase 1 of this year's street improvement projects throughout town.   Street paving and other work will take place at the following locations: Commonwealth Avenue Locust Street Giddings Street Ramsey Avenue Meadow Lane (GB) Stillwell Avenue Cooper Road The low bidder for these jobs was Williams Paving from West Stockbridge, with a price of $592,768.80   Construction gets underway around May 15, weather permitting.   Work includes reclaiming the existing pavement, reshaping and compacting the road with rollers then placing a binder and top pavement. There will also be minor drainage work involved.
