MassDOT Advisory: South County Overnight Construction on I-90

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced overnight milling and paving operations, bridge work, and lane closures on I-90 westbound and eastbound in the towns of Stockbridge, West Stockbridge, and Becket.    All work will take place during overnight hours and will be complete by 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, in anticipation of the July 4 holiday.   Stockbridge/West Stockbridge: Milling and paving operations will be conducted on I-90 westbound from mile marker 4.0 to mile marker 0.0 nightly from Monday, June 30, through Wednesday, July 2, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.   Stockbridge: The I-90 westbound exit 3 off-ramp will

Post 68-1 Senior Legion Team Walks Off Win Against Sheffield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Dominic Marcella drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh Sunday to give the Pittsfield Post 68-1 American Legion Baseball team a 7-6 win over Sheffield Post 340.   Ben Jacob started the winning rally with a single to right, and Gavin O’Donnell singled to left to put runners at the corners.   Sheffield opted to intentionally walk Jack Abel (1-for-3, triple, three RBIs), bringing Marcella to the plate with a chance to end it.   Post 68 rallied for six runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase a 5-0 deficit and take a one-run lead.   Sheffield tied it in the top of the sixth when Christian Blanchard singled to drive in Parker

LEE, Mass. — Although only living in the Berkshires for a few years, Evan Butts has already ingrained himself into the community.    A server at the Italian restaurant Amici in West Stockbridge, Butts aims to helping others in his spare time, specifically with his journey raising funds for the charity Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.    Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy is one of the largest organizations in the state dedicated to advocating for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.    Duchenne is a progressive muscle disease and is the most common form of muscular dystrophy diagnosed in childhood, said Nicole Herring, development and community engagement vice

Nonprofit Center Launches Equity Academy

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — In more than one survey, Berkshire nonprofit leaders indicated strong demand for training in DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging). As a result, Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires is partnering with André Lynch and the Berkshire Equity Association to launch a training series that runs from September 2025 through April 2026.

The Agents of Change: Equity Academy includes 6 workshops, individual coaching to assist in achieving organizational goals, and a culminating sharing and "Equity Activator" certificate presentation.

The cost of the series is largely underwritten by The Barr Foundation, Berkshire Bank, Greylock Federal

Triplex Announces Renovation Plans for Outdoor Patio

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Triplex Cinema today announced plans for a newly designed outdoor patio, which will be a multi-use community space replacing the existing patio and its surrounding wall that is danger of collapsing.   The new patio will be used for Triplex events including dining, socializing, outdoor receptions and screenings, as well as staged readings, performances, and music.
