Guild of Berkshire Artists Opening New Exhibit

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Guild of Berkshire Artists will be hosting its new exhibit "Color, Texture & Form" in their Art on Main gallery, located at  38 Main St, and will run for three Friday, Saturday, Sunday weekends.    The exhibit will open Saturday, Nov. 18, and feature work from three local artists specializing in different mediums and utilizing different views on color, texture, and form.    Artists Sarah Morrison, Sally Lebwohl and Margie Skaggs all focus on different mediums of art but all emphasized that sharing their work with fellow artists gives them the courage to try new things and look at their own work with a different

Simon's Rock Theater Program to Perform 'RIOT'

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Bard College at Simon's Rock's Theater Program will perform "RIOT" on Thursday, Nov. 10 through Saturday, Nov. 12.    "RIOT" is directed by Assistant Professor of Theater and alumna Sara Katzoff '97.   According to a press release, originally created and devised by the Wardrobe Ensemble from Bristol (United Kingdom), "RIOT" is a tale of violence, greed and cheap sofas. Bidwell House Candlelight Tours

BRTA Services Free From Nov. 25 to Dec. 31

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) announced that beginning Nov. 25 through Dec. 31, 2022, all BRTA bus and paratransit services will be free through the state's "Try Transit" initiative.   This Try Transit initiative is supported through the state budget and awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — It's time to renew health insurance coverage for 2023, and the Community Health Programs insurance team is available to help Berkshire region residents with updating their MA Health Connector insurance plan.   The Open Enrollment period runs Nov. 1, 2022-Jan. 23, 2023. Berkshire Organizations Partner to Launch New Website to Help Grant Seekers

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Funding Focus (BFF), a new initiative established to support Berkshire County entities seeking federal and state funds for pandemic-related recovery and rebuilding, launched its website in November.   Berkshire Regional Planning Commission and several partner agencies joined to form BFF in response to a need for a clearinghouse focused on the investment of COVID-19 recovery dollars into the region, to improve the well-being of community members. Rollerskiers Tackle Mount Greylock

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. – Fin Bailey and Alexandra Lawson were the top finishers on Sunday at the Mount Greylock Hill Climb.   The rollerski race was conducted at Mount Greylock Reservation under the auspices of the New England Nordic Ski Association.   More than 100 athletes took on the challenge of racing to the top of the commonwealth’s highest peak.   Bailey and Lawson were the first finishers in the long course division for men and women respectively.   The long course ran for 8 miles from the visitor’s center to the top of the 3,500 foot mountain.   Bailey of Vermont’s Stratton Mountain School won the men’s race in 48 minutes, 59.4
