Sandisfield Fire Chief Resigns| 10:35PM / Tuesday, November 14, 2023 | | SANDISFIELD, Mass. — The Sandisfield Times is reporting the town's public safety chiefs are out. According to a special report of the newsletter Tuesday night, Fire Chief Ralph Morrison resigned at Monday's Select Board meeting and his brother, Police Chief Michael Morrison, is expected to be sacked. The chiefs' leadership have been have been questioned since a fire tanker truck was wrecked in September while being driven to a fire by the police chief. LEE, Mass. — The board of trustees of Lee Bank have elected four new corporators all of whom have accepted their roles. New corporators, nominated by the board's governance committee, include: Juan Carlos Gonzalez who worked in the banking industry in Colombia. Since moving to the Berkshires he has been focused on empowering the Latin-X community through resources for financial mobility and stability. Jeffrey R. Minkler is a long-time resident of Stockbridge. He is a co-owner of Arcadian Shop in Lenox and enjoys spending time hiking, paddling, and biking around the Berkshires. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The second annual Founder's Day Lecture will be held at Simon's Rock on Nov. 16, 2023, at 7 p.m. with speaker Friba Rezayee. The lecture will occur in the McConnell Theater in the Daniel Arts Center on campus. The event is free and open to the public. Founder's Day at Simon's Rock is held every year on November 16 to honor and recognize the birthday of founder Elizabeth "Betty" Blodgett Hall.
