DelGrande Aces Seventh at Greenock

LEE, Mass. -- Anne DelGrande sank a hole-in-one last week in the Thursday Night Ladies League at Greenock Country Club.   DelGrande used a seven wood for the ace on the 143-yard, par-3 seventh hole.   It was her first hole-in-one at Greenock and the fourth in her playing career.   The achievement was witnessed by Barb Norton and Athena Dratelis.

Mural Honoring 54th Massachusetts at Center of Juneteenth Celebration

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – At a time when the nation remembers the liberation of the last enslaved people in the United States, the city Sunday remembered some of the heroes who made that freedom possible.   Pittsfield’s annual Juneteenth Celebration at Durant Park featured the unveiling of a new mural dedicated to the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment and, specifically, the Pittsfield residents who served in the nation’s first all-Black combat unit.   Reenactors from the contemporary 54th Regiment based in Boston were on hand to help with the dedication and read General Order No. 3, issued by the Union Army in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, notifying residents

MassDOT: South County Construction Operations

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be performing milling, paving, bridge repairs, and bridge painting on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Stockbridge, West Stockbridge, and Becket.

Work will take place between Sunday, June 15, and Thursday, June 19, during both nighttime and daytime hours.

Stockbridge/West Stockbridge:

Milling and paving operations will take place on I-90 westbound between mile markers 8.2 and 3.5 from Monday night, June 16, through Thursday night, June 19, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning. Lane closures will be in place.

West Stockbridge:

Bridge work will take place on I-90

Berkshire Bucks Win Youth Lacrosse Title

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. -- The Berkshire Bucks seventh- and eighth-grade boys lacrosse team last weekend won its bracket at the Connecticut Valley Youth Lacrosse League tournament.   The team went 12-0 in the regular season and advanced to the league semi-finals with a 12-5 win at home against South Hadley.   The Bucks then beat Wethersfield, Conn., 15-5, on Saturday before claiming the title with an 11-7 win over Meriden, Conn.   The Berkshire squad draws players from throughout the county and includes: Dayveon Kelsey, Jackson Schneider, Jackson Poudrier, Paul Tesoniero, Jackson Larabee, William Naef, Alex Harrington, Owen Brown, Isaac Gagne, Henry McCoy, Vincent Greer, Logan

Becket Arts Center to Host Inaugural Berkshire LGBTQ+ Pride Art Exhibit

BECKET, Mass. — The Becket Arts Center, in collaboration with Q-MoB and the Berkshire Queer History Project, will host the first Berkshire LGBTQ+ Pride Art Exhibit from June 12 to July 6, 2025.    The exhibit will feature works by 13 local LGBTQ+ artists and include an artists' panel and an opening reception.   The exhibit aims to showcase local queer artists and members of the community.    An Artists Panel is scheduled for June 12 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, featuring Rachel Kaufmann, Mitchell Sellers, Johanna Merfeld, and Christopher Pierce.    An Opening Reception will follow on June 13 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where all 13 artists are expected

MassDOT Announces Overnight I-90 Construction in Western Massachusetts

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced scheduled overnight construction operations on I-90 eastbound and westbound in West Stockbridge, Becket, Otis, and Blandford.   The work is set to occur from Monday, June 9, through Thursday, June 12, and will involve guardrail repair, drainage structure work, and bridge painting. These operations will necessitate overnight lane closures and one on-ramp closure at various locations along I-90.   MassDOT has indicated that all scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.   In West Stockbridge, guardrail repair work is scheduled for I-90 westbound

Great Barrington Public Theater Annual Benefit to Honor Tristan Wilson

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Great Barrington Public Theater Annual Benefit will take place on June 14, 2025 at Saint James Place.    This year's honoree and recipient of the 2025 Black Bear Award will be Tristan Wilson.   Tristan Wilson served as the first Managing Director of Great Barrington Public from 2020 until his recent retirement in December 2024. He was integral to the operations of GB Public and helped launch the company to its full season and off-season programming.   Tristan Wilson and Jim Frangione were friends and partners while working at Berkshire Playwrights Lab in 2017 before Jim Frangione and Deann Simmons Halper co-founded Great Barrington

LENOX Mass. — Lee High School's class of 2025 was commended for their achievements in a "stranger, more confusing" world.

Fifty-one graduates crossed the stage at Tanglewood on Saturday as rain poured over the Koussevitzky Music Shed. Salutatorian Sophia Puntin said, "We've really been through a rollercoaster over the years, especially in middle and high school."
