 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Berkshire Bach Society (BBS) announces its annual Harpsichord Festival with two concerts at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Stockbridge. On Sept. 21, 4pm, Peter Sykes plays a 50th Anniversary Recital commemorating his public debut in 1974; and on October 19, 4pm, Elliot Figg and Caitlyn Koester play Skeletons of the Opera, a concert of Baroque opera transcriptions for harpsichord, four hands. STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that crews will be performing nighttime paving, guardrail, and bridge repair operations along I-90 eastbound and westbound from Monday night, Sept. 16, through Thursday night, Sept. 19. Lane closures will be in effect, and traffic will be allowed through the work zones. The schedule for the work and lane closures is as follows: Otis/Blandford Paving operations will be conducted on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 23.0 to 27.0, Monday night, Sept. 16, through Thursday night, Sept. 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night, with work concluding by 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, Sept. 0 Comments

Regional and local employees cut the ribbon Friday morning on the final rebranded store, at 300 Stockbridge Road. The modern makeover of the 49,500 square-foot space will now provide the same shopping experience for all local customers. It is the company's 51st rebrand into a Market 32 store. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The former Price Chopper on Stockbridge Road will reopen as the 51st Market 32 on Friday. A grand opening will be held on Friday with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. The store opens at 8 a.m. Price Chopper/Market 32 President Blaine Bringhurst and other company executives, and local officials will attend the opening. The Schenectady, N.Y.-based supermarket chain has been renovating and rebranding its Price Chopper stores as Market 32, symbolizing the Golub family's founding of the markets in 1932. Berkshire Art Center's 2024 Berkshire Artist Residency Program is coming to a close with three exhibition openings this summer and fall at Chesterwood, The Red Lion Inn and Ventfort Hall. The Berkshire delegates take questions from residents during the public session at Town Hall. BECKET, Mass. — Members say this legislative session has seen financial successes and moves towards housing stability.
State Sen. Paul Mark and Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli attracted a sizable crowd to Town Hall on Monday for a legislative update. The current session began in January 2023 and will conclude on Dec. 31.
"I'd like to say that the Berkshire delegation works pretty well together," said Pignatelli, dean of the Berkshire delegation who is stepping down after 22 years in the State House.

 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Registration is ongoing for the 25th annual Monument Cup 3-on-3 youth soccer tournament. The event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Monument Mountain Regional High School. Teams of up to four players are eligible to compete in boys and girls divisions in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 age groups. The registration fee is $100 per team, and all teams are guaranteed at least three matches with the top four teams in each division advancing to the semi-finals. Space is limited.  GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Kilpatrick Athletic Center (KAC) has partnered with SwimAmerica to launch a series of Fall 2024 swimming lessons to the community. SwimAmerica, a national learn-to-swim program designed to teach new swimmers endurance and technique, works with coaches and athletic trainers to offer lessons to their communities, including community members beginning their training at the age of three.
