Overnight Hour Construction in South County 03:33PM / Sunday, August 27, 2023 | | LEE, Mass. — Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) crews will be conducting overnight hour pavement milling, and slope, drainage and bridge repair operations on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Lee, Becket, West Stockbridge and Stockbridge. The work will be conducted at various times and locations from Monday, Aug. 28, through Friday, Sept. 1. Lane closures will be in place during the construction operations and traffic will be able to travel through the work zones. Great Barrington Real Estate Transfer Fee Information Meeting12:14PM / Saturday, August 26, 2023 | | GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Selectboard will host a public input session on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. to discuss a proposal for a 1 percent transfer fee on real estate transactions over $1 million. Revenue from the transfer fee would be used to support affordable and workforce housing initiatives in Great Barrington. The agenda for the special meeting (in-person and via Zoom) will be posted on the town calendar by Aug. 29, with Zoom links included. Any such proposal would first require approval of town meeting voters and then the state legislature.
