Candlelight Tour at the Bidwell House Museum

MONTEREY, Mass. — On Nov. 14, the Bidwell House Museum staff and Board of Directors are delighted to once again offer their members and friends an opportunity to take a special Candlelight Tour of the Museum.    The event is $40 per person for members and $50 per person for non-members. West Stockbridge Daytime Tree Removal Operations

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing tree removal operations along Route 41 in West Stockbridge which will require a temporary closure of approximately 1000 feet of the roadway at mile marker 23 on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 4:00 a.m. to noon.

During this time, a detour will be in place, directing drivers onto Washington Square, which connects Route 41 to Route 102 and back to Route 41. Police will be on-site to guide the motoring public through the detour.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.?

West Stockbridge Awarded Complete Streets Funding

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — MassDOT awarded the town $112,612 for pedestrian improvements at the Swamp Road/Main Street intersection.   The project includes the relocation of a crosswalk, the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps, and improvement at the intersection for drivers by building permanent bollards to better direct turns.   The project will also improve the walkability at the Depot Street Municipal Parking Lot by building a pedestrian zone and a new sidewalk segment while also relocating a crosswalk to better connect visitors parking in the lot to the town sidewalk.   The Healey-Driscoll Administration awarded over $4.5 million to 11 communities as part of

Lee Man Killed in Single-Car Accident

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. —  A Lee man was killed Saturday in a single-car accident on Division Street.    Caleb Carlson, 23, of South Lee, was pronounced deceased at the scene.   Police say they received 911 calls at about 6:09 p.m. on Saturday reporting the crash; Carlson's 2010 Volkswagen Jettawhich apparently struck a tree or tree stump near 190 Division St.   The section of Division Street from Alford Road to Christian Hill was closed for a duration of four hours while investigators were on scene. Food Bank of Western Massachusetts Welcomes Berkshire Bounty

Becket Overnight Low Speed Lane Closures
