Monument Mountain Names Co-Valedictorians, Salutatorian for 2025

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Monument Mountain Regional School will have co-valedictorians this year — Max Wood and Tessa Baldwin — speaking at graduation. Liam O'Gara was named salutatorian for the class of 2025.    Graduation will take place on Sunday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Tanglewood in Lenox.    Baldwin has lived in Richmond for her whole life. She attended Richmond Consolidated School from kindergarten to Grade 8 and then Monument Mountain for four years. West Stockbridge, Becket Construction Operations on I-90 Eastbound and Westbound

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be performing drainage structure work and bridge painting along I-90 eastbound and westbound in West Stockbridge and Becket.

The work will take place nightly from Monday, June 2, through Friday, June 6, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. the following morning.

West Stockbridge:

Triplex Cinema Appoints New Board President and Members

I-90 Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled for Construction in West Stockbridge and Stockbridge

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that construction operations are scheduled to take place on I-90 eastbound and westbound in West Stockbridge and Stockbridge from Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, May 30.

These operations will involve bridge painting, drainage structure work, and guardrail repairs, requiring lane closures during overnight hours.

MassDOT has stated that the work will necessitate lane closures at various locations along I-90. "All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice," MassDOT noted.

Bidwell House Museum Announces 2025 Season Program

MONTEREY, Mass. The Bidwell House Museum announced its 2025 season program.

All summer long, the Museum will highlight traditional trades, with programs and an exhibition. Past events like the Reenactment Weekend and the Summer History Talk series will return.

New this year: a play, a concert, and some nature walks.

The Museum's third annual member's week kicks off on May 19. Members are invited to house tours, no appointment needed, on May 19, 22, 23, and 24, at either 1 p.m. or 3 p.m.

The official tour season starts on Memorial Day, May 26. Guided tours of the house will be by appointment only, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m.

EPA Awards Brownfields Grants to Revitalize Berkshire County Communities

BOSTON — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced significant Brownfields Grant funding to support the cleanup and revitalization of communities within Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Over $2.5 million has been specifically allocated to projects aimed at transforming blighted properties into valuable community assets.   The Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) has been selected to receive $2,000,000 in supplemental funding for its Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) program. This substantial funding boost builds upon the $11,095,667 already awarded to the BRPC by the EPA. The BRPC's RLF program has a proven track record, having facilitated

Triplex Cinema Screens 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' Free for Premium Members

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.— The Triplex Cinema will host a free premium members screening of Steven Spielberg’s 1981 film "Raiders of the Lost Ark" on Thursday, May 22nd. The film, set in 1936, stars Harrison Ford as archaeologist Indiana Jones as he competes with Nazi forces to locate the Ark of the Covenant. Jones is joined by his former romantic interest, Marion Ravenswood, played by Karen Allen, to prevent a rival archaeologist from assisting the Nazis in obtaining the Ark.
