While we are saddened by the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit which denied the HRI/HEAL appeal, it did not come unexpectedly. Having fought against the injustices of General Electric to our environment and health and safety of our communities, we have seen an erosion of our legal system that supports wealth and power at the sacrifice of our citizens. It is well known that judges are chosen these days based more by political positions than legal accomplishment. The luck of the draw was that the appeal was in front of a judiciary that has past decisions that clearly supported industry rather than citizens. The agreement which allows for a toxic dump

 LEE, Mass. -- Lee's Maguire Roosa and Glendale's Morgan Windram-Geddes were the top finishers Sunday at the High Lawn Farm Keep Moo’ving 5K. The event was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the family-owned dairy farm and as a benefit for Berkshire Bounty, a food rescue organization that serves emergency food distribution programs county-wide. Roosa hit the finish line in 19 minutes, 30.45 seconds, a 6:16 mile pace, to edge runner-up Pat McNaughton (19:31.87) by just more than a second. The proposed Accessibility in the Creative Economy Act would would provide grants to organizations focused on arts, culture, humanities, and interpretive sciences that remove barriers for people with disabilities.

 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — A Division Street garage went up in flames on Thursday night, destroying the woodworking shop inside. The fire is under investigation by local authorities and the State Fire Marshal's Office but is not deemed suspicious and is presumed to be weather related. There were no injuries. Firefighters responded to 69 Division St. at about 7:56 p.m. for a reported garage fire; additional calls to 911 reported a fully engulfed garage with a house in close proximity.
