The US National Weather Service has released a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 pm Tuesday, Feb. 7, morning to 1 am Wednesday morning. Expect mixed precipitation with snow and sleet accumulation of up to one inch. Ice accumulation should be a light glaze. Precipitation will start as a mix of snow and rain, transitioning into sleet mixing with freezing rain. Precipitation will taper off into a drizzle towards midnight Tuesday. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.— At Town Hall, planning is under way for the 2024 fiscal year municipal budget and Annual Town Meeting. In February and March the Selectboard and Finance Committee hold a series of FY24 budget planning sessions, and the public is invited to attend in-person at Town Hall, or via Zoom. Online meeting links will be posted on the town calendar on the hearing dates. Meetings are Feb. 28, March 1, March 7 and 8, with a final public hearing on March 22. BECKET, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced it will be conducting daytime hour pavement repair operations on I-90 westbound at mile marker 17.3 in Becket. The work will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will require temporary lane closures.  WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — There is electrical service available at a lower rate than National Grid for West Stockbridge residents. The Town of West Stockbridge has an aggregation agreement through Colonial Power. Most residents automatically opted into this program.
