LENOX, Mass. — The Lenox Library announced a special event to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Lenox Non-Importation Agreement. This historic document, signed by 111 Lenox residents in 1774, marked a moment in America's path to independence. The celebration will take place on July 13th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Sedgwick Reading Room at the Library. According to a press release, seven years after its incorporation, the Town of Lenox sent six delegates to a Berkshire Congress held in Stockbridge. WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — On Saturday, July 6, West Stockbridge commemorates its 250th anniversary with a series of events throughout the day. MONTEREY, Mass. — On July 6 at noon, Timothy Abbott, from Spencer's Additional Continental Regiment, will share the stories of soldiers from Berkshire County who enlisted in the Continental Army and State Levies. Their involvement in the American Revolutionary era and their experiences in the military will shine a light on life during this fraught time in American history. MONTEREY, Mass. — In 2023 the Bidwell House Museum embarked on a project to revitalize their herb garden, one of a number of teaching gardens onsite. Funded by a grant from Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area and completed by Gardens of the Goddess, the old herb garden was cleared, the space was redesigned and new herbs were planted.
