SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Join a naturalist for a guided walk along the Housatonic River looking for spring ephemerals  and migrating warblers at Bartholomew's Cobble.   This joint program is offered by the Trustees in partnership with the Hoffmann Bird Club.     Expected birds: mergansers in the river, warblers in the trees, maybe  a glimpse of a bald eagle or black vulture, shore birds on exposed mudflats, and returning tree/rough-winged swallows over Corbin's Neck. Triplex Cinema, GBPT Fundraising Screening of 'Freud's Last Session'

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Triplex Cinema and Great Barrington Public Theater announced a special screening of the recent film "Freud's Last Session" based on the Mark St. Germain play that originally premiered in 2009 at the Barrington Stage Company.    The filmed version of "Freud's Last Session" is written by St. German and Matthew Brown, who also directed the film. CATA: Making an Impact 30 Years and Counting

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — An idea to encourage artistic opportunities for people with disabilities that began in Sandy Newman's living room 30 years ago is now a successful showcase for them tell their stories through a wide range of media and performance.   Community Access to the Arts began in 1993 with a textile class led by Newman that served 12 women from the Riverbrook Residence. It now serves about 950 people, who display their art through public events, including exhibits, performances, and more. Chamber Music by Local Composers to be Premiered at Simon's Rock

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — ArtWeek Berkshires, a county-wide collaboration, will take place May 17-27.

The ArtWeek committee posted its call for artists.  The non-juried event is free to all Berkshire County individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in showcasing creative work. Submissions from actors, cartoonists, crafters, dancers, designers, filmmakers, illustrators, mimes, multimedia artists, musicians, performance artists, poets, puppeteers, theater artists, visual artists, writers – and more – are welcome.
