 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Monument Mountain Regional School will have co-valedictorians this year — Max Wood and Tessa Baldwin — speaking at graduation. Liam O'Gara was named salutatorian for the class of 2025. Graduation will take place on Sunday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Tanglewood in Lenox. Baldwin has lived in Richmond for her whole life. She attended Richmond Consolidated School from kindergarten to Grade 8 and then Monument Mountain for four years. The in-person tour of the high school starts at 5:30 p.m. and the information session at 6 p.m. The community session will also have a virtual component. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Only half of the state's graduates completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid last year, and the Executive Office of Education wants to see that number grow.
Education Secretary Patrick Tutwiler spoke to about 40 Monument Mountain Regional High School students as a part of the Higher Education Financial Aid Road Show on Thursday. Gov. Maura Healey launched the effort February to encourage students and families to apply for available state financial aid. SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Mount Everett Regional School was put in lockdown Wednesday morning following threats made by a student. According to the Berkshire District Attorney's office, both local law enforcement and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the DA's Office responded to the school. Based on the law enforcement response, the DA's Office stated, there is no active threat to the Mount Everett Regional School community.
