Marguerite L. Strizzi, 95

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Marguerite L. "Nana" Strizzi, 95, of 60 Donna Ave. died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 17, 1919, a daughter of Alfred and Marguerite Gable Wendell, she attended school in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1937.

Mrs. Strizzi was employed as a bookkeeper for several companies including the former General Electric, U.S. Fidelity Insurance Co., Berkshire Bank and, lastly, at the former Crescent Creamery, which presented her its award for excellence in 1993. From 1967 to 1970, she and her late husband, Dominick J. Strizzi, owned and operated the Holiday Deluxe Motel in Lenox.

She was a former member of Pilgrim Memorial Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her pies. She loved spending time with her family.

Her husband, whom she married March 30, 1940, died Sept. 25, 2003.

She leaves her daughter, Susan Spiewak and her husband, Donald, of Pittsfield; her son, Dennis Strizzi and his wife, Susan, of Williamstown; her six loving grandchildren, Brian Spiewak and his wife, Kristine, Karen Spiewak, Christopher Spiewak, Shelley Strizzi, Dennis D. Strizzi and his wife, Rebecca, and Michael Strizzi; seven great-grandchildren, Katie and Joshua Bradley, Grace and Claire Spiewak, Marissa and Stephanie Martin and Dominick Strizzi, and her former daughter-in-law, Susan Villanova.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred, Dennis and Charles Wendell.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services will take place Wednesday, July 15, at 11 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Robert Rennie officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 14, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home.
