Dana L. Schwendenmann, 62

May 15, 2025

LENOX, Mass. Dana Schwendenmann, 62, passed away at home following a long illness.

Dana was born in Indianapolis, IN to Dr. Frederick and Dorothy Schwendenmann. She attended Minnechaug Regional High School and graduated from Wilbraham and Monson Academy in 1981. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Western New England University in 1985. After college, she lived in Boston, where she worked in fashion and developed a strong love for all Boston sport teams. She later moved to Cape Cod, where she raised her amazing daughter, Carly, the light of her life.

Dana is survived by her daughter, Carly, of Marstons Mills, MA, her mother, Dorothy Schwendenmann of Wilbraham, MA, her brothers, Todd Schwendenmann (Heidi) of Wilbraham, MA, Mark Schwendenmann (Ellen) of New City, NY, and her sister, Amy Schwendenmann (Rosemary) of Lenox, MA. She also leaves behind her nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins, whom she cherished deeply. She is predeceased by her father, Dr. Frederick Schwendenmann.

Dana was a natural caregiver and loved her family, extended Cape Cod family, and longtime friends more than anything. She always loved gathering for family events with a food item from a favorite cooking show or catching up with friends through social media.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to her providers from Berkshire Health Systems, Elder Services of the Berkshires, and UMass Memorial Center in Worcester, MA. Their care made a significant difference in Dana‘s life.

Services will be held on May 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia church in Wilbraham, MA with private burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dana’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice.

My deep condolences to the whole family. Although I haven’t seen Dana since high school, I remember her well. She was such a positive personality with a quick smile and contagious laugh. Reconnecting on Facebook, she was that same upbeat person. I’m so sorry she had to deal with a long-term illness. Sad she was taken way too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dana and I reconnected on fb many years ago. She was such a very sweet and thoughtful woman. I think she was my biggest fan on fb whenever I posted pics of my family. I am so saddened to read of her passing. I just knew something was wrong due to her absence on fb. Please know that my heart is mourning her loss and I pray that peace of the Heavens bring you, her family, some comfort.?
