MILFORD, Mass. – Robert Baer went 2-for-3 with four RBIs Sunday to lead the Sheffield Post 340 Seniors to a 13-3 win over Pittsfield Post 68-2 in the Massachusetts American Legion Tournament. Christian Blanchard, Jack Bissaillon, Ben Kelly and Brady Carpenter each had a pair of hits in a 14-hit attack for Sheffield, which ended the game after five innings. Bissaillon earned the win on the mound with a complete-game effort, striking out seven and walking three. Post 68-2 used three different pitchers, who combined to allow eight earned runs. Geurds covered the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course in 17 minutes, 51 seconds to place 26th overall. The race saw 1,141 competitors finish the out-and-back course from Wahconah Street south to the intersection of South Street and West Housatonic and back to Wahconah Park. PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Infield is offering a series of youth sports camps for children aged 4 to 12 starting next week at its Lyman Street facility. The first two sessions are a baseball camp for children 7 to 12. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon, July 7-9. From 9 to noon, July 21-23, The Infield will hold a softball camp for children 7 to 12. The cost for each three-day camp is $150.
