Why are there such short trick or treat hours? In many cases you may have to walk a bit between houses with lights on...not much time for little children to get from house to house.
As a kid I remember getting into costume right after school then going trick or treating until late like 9 or so.... why is it so short its ridiculous!!!! My light will be on til late for any stragglers!!!! Orlando ave. cant wait to see the awesome costumes!!!!!
The area where I grew up in PA, they'd designate 4-5:30 for elementary and earlier ages, and 5:30 til 8 for the older kids. The towns in the area did a cooperative schedule so that there would be 3 consecutive days of trick or treat each night in a different town and ending on Halloween night.
Come on people 5 to 7 i used to go out as a kid and trick or treat till 9 Parents send your kids out on Halloween night let them stay out till 9 and the hell with the stupid rules the town tries to put on Halloween. Stick up for our rights and go with tradition not the stupid politician.
Hours should be extended for rick or treating. After all it is for "KIDS".Walking with a 3 and 4 year old is slow and a stroller makes it even slower!Plus the amount of houses actually handing out candy is few and far between sometimes. It is not the point of getting the most candy but the fun kids have doing it but at the same times kids like to fill a plastic bucket at least. It is sad a kids gets home and says "Mommy I didn't get much for all that walking".One and a half hours out in rain and cold for less than a store bag of candy. We might be better off buying a few bags and staying home and making a party instead!Very sad so I hope they extend hours.
Is this a joke? Trick-or-treating isn't something that is scheduled by municipal government. It is a national tradition. Where I live, trick-or-treating typically lasts until 9 PM. Oh, and by the way, Halloween is on October 31st. I feel bad for the children who live in this region with such crusty adults.
i dont understand why they have limits for trick or treating hours.its dumb and its very hard when u have to watch over little kids. it's not something the govenment should be able to control because it's a national traditon.
Editor: OMG, they're not going to arrest you if you continue to trick-or-treat! This is to let residents know when they expect the kids to be around. I don't know why anyone would be dragging their kids around at 9 on a school night to beg for candy. And if you can't get around your neighborhood in an hour or so, you're going way far afield.
