Ventfort Hall Presents 'Tables for Two: Famous Couples Celebrate Valentines Day'

LENOX, Mass. — Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum will open "Tables for Two: Famous Couples Celebrate Valentines Day" on Monday Feb. 1.
 
Displaying decorated table settings representing couples from Mickey and Minnie Mouse to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the exhibit will be open to the public until Sunday, Feb. 28.  Reservations are required due to the pandemic.
 
The eleven table settings will represent these famous and inspirational couples:
 
  • Tarzan and Jane, "Monkey Business in a Tree" 1930s
  • Cole and Linda Porter, "Picnic on Venice's Grand Canal" 1930s
  • Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, "Lunch During the Filming of The Night of the Iguana, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico" 1963
  • George and Yuki Kato Morgan, "A Honeymoon Tea Ceremony at Kyoto, Japan" 1904
  • Sir Winston and Lady Clementine Churchill, "Breakfast at Their Estate Chequers, Ellesborough, Buckinghamshire" 1930s
  • Duke and Duchess of Windsor, "Lunch at Government House, Nassau, the Bahamas" early 1940s
  • Robert and Annie Haggarty Shaw, "Honeymoon and Farewell Dinner at Vent Fort Before Tragedy at Ft. Wagner, S.C." 1863
  • Mickey and Minnie Mouse, "Munchies in a Mouse Hole at Ventfort Hall" Present Day
  • Ruth St. Dennis and Ted Shawn, "Supper After the Ballet at Jacob's Pillow" 1930s
  • George and Sarah Morgan, "Dinner at Ventfort Hall Hosted by the Morgans for Lenox Society – Guest of Honor, J. Pierpont Morgan" 1893
  • Giraud and Jean Van Nest Foster, "Valentine's Day Dinner Party at Bellefontaine" 1905
 
The members of the "Tables for Two" committee are Alice Nathan, Mary Frances Benko, Claudia Perles, Nancy Whelan and Tom Hayes.
 
Exhibit included in general house admission for self-guided tours of $18.00, $17.00 for 65+.  Visiting hours are Thursday – Tuesday, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Closed on Wednesdays.  
 
Masks, while in attendance, are required. For information or reservations call Ventfort Hall at 413-637-3206.  The historical mansion is located at 104 Walker Street in Lenox.
