GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Community Development Corporation of South Berkshire (CDCSB) announces its 2021 virtual fundraising scheduled for Friday, Oct. 8, at 7pm.

CDCSB will host a virtual screening of the documentary film, Citizen Jane: Battle For The City, about the life and work of urban planning activist Jane Jacobs. The event includes a live, online Q&A session with the film's Producer/Director, Matt Tyrnauer, and Film Editor, Bob Eisenhardt.

In 1960, Jane Jacobs wrote the book, "The Death and Life of Great American Cities," a critique of modern urban planning and post-war "urban renewal," particularly New York City and Robert Moses, the City's "master builder."

"We are very excited to be revisiting the lessons of Citizen Jane at our 2021 Virtual Film Fundraiser," said Community Development Corporation of South Berkshire's Executive Director, Allison Marchese. "We'll be able to hear directly from Matt Tyrnauer the film's Producer/Director and film editor, Bob Eisenhardt about their experience of making a film that empowers individuals to work toward positive change."

This fundraiser will support the CDCSB's work in South Berkshire County, building affordable housing developments like Windrush Commons on South Main Street in Great Barrington which is due to break ground in the fall of this year.

Tickets to the screening/Q&A can be purchased for $15 per person at Eventbrite or via PayPal at cdcsb.org/2021filmfundraiser
