WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — State Police were on the scene of a fatal crash this morning at the 2-mile marker on the Turn Pike.
According to a tweet by State Police, the only vehicle involved was a sport utility vehicle with five individuals inside, one of whom "suffered fatal injuries." The other four people were taken by ambulance to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
The accident occurred before 8:30 a.m., closing the eastbound lane. Traffic was later allowed through the breakdown lane and the highway was fully opened about 12:43 p.m.
