GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Triplex Cinema, Inc. announced that it will mount a new holiday version of
its fundraiser "Bring Back the Movies" on Saturday, Dec. 16.
The Triplex's "Bring Back the Movies" events offer live readings of scenes from iconic movies or the plays on which they're based. The Holiday Edition will include scenes from both old favorites, such as "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Carol," as well as newer classics, such as "Home Alone," "Love Actually" and "Elf."
As in the earlier August edition of "Bring Back the Movies," these scenes will be performed by a cast of local professionals, including Karen Allen, Jayne Atkinson, Greg Boover, McConnia Chesser, Michel Gill, Daniel Osman, David Rasche and others. Music will again be provided by Gigi and Tom Teeley and Michelle Joyner will reprise her role as director.
There will be two shows, one at 3 pm and one at 6pm at the McConnell Theater in the Daniel Arts Building at
Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington. Admission is $50 for those older than 16, and $25 for those 16 and under.
Local vocalists James King Harris and Francis Stone will greet everyone at the door with holiday-themed
music.
