An invasion by Moscow was looming but not inevitable, and to some, it seemed inconceivable. That was the case for 16-year-old Marko Kononenko, a secondary school student and soccer player. LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing crews will be conducting daytime and overnight hour paving operations and guardrail repairs on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Lee, Becket, West Stockbridge and Stockbridge. The work will be conducted at various times and locations from 7:00 p.m., Monday, Aug. 7, through 5:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 11. Lane closures will be in place during repair operations and traffic will be able to travel through the work zones.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Berkshire Pottery Tour which highlights potters in their studios. The Berkshire Pottery Tour was founded by a group of pottery friends who met at the Berkshire Art Center (then IS 183) in 2013. While we are saddened by the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit which denied the HRI/HEAL appeal, it did not come unexpectedly. Having fought against the injustices of General Electric to our environment and health and safety of our communities, we have seen an erosion of our legal system that supports wealth and power at the sacrifice of our citizens. It is well known that judges are chosen these days based more by political positions than legal accomplishment. The event was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the family-owned dairy farm and as a benefit for Berkshire Bounty, a food rescue organization that serves emergency food distribution programs county-wide. Roosa hit the finish line in 19 minutes, 30.45 seconds, a 6:16 mile pace, to edge runner-up Pat McNaughton (19:31.87) by just more than a second.
