 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Healey-Driscoll administration has awarded $1.35 million to fund housing rehabilitation for income-eligible Great Barrington homeowners. The funds provide a 0 percent interest, deferred payment loan of up to $50,000, which is forgivable if the homeowner remains in the residence for at least 15 years. "We are extremely grateful to the Governor and her administration for this grant award," said Town Manager Mark Pruhenski.  GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The 24th annual Monument Cup 3-on-3 soccer tournament returns on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Monument Mountain Regional High School. The event features boys and girls divisions in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 age groups. Teams of three to four players are guaranteed at least three matches. The top four teams in each division advance to the semifinals, with the championship matches played on the varsity field. Teams are encouraged to wear their own handmade, creative uniforms. Shannon Holsey, president of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, says the purchase of former indigenous lands will allow the tribe to reclaim a kinship with the land that will benefit future generations. STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans is one of the first tribes to receive state Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness funding, a historical feat that will go toward the reclamation of indigenous homeland.
On Wednesday, the Healey-Driscoll administration announced the $31.5 million in grants for climate resilience implementation and planning throughout the state.

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Community groups and organizations are invited to apply for grants from the town's Community Impact Fund, a town-administered fund composed of revenue from cannabis businesses in town. Applications are due Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. More details and application paperwork can be found here. For the 2023 fiscal year, the town has earmarked $500,000 for distribution among qualifying organizations, individuals, town committees and town departments seeking support for community benefit projects.
